West Bend, Wis. (April 20, 2020): In response to Governor Evers’ Emergency Order 28, West Bend Community Memorial Library will begin offering a curbside pickup service starting on Monday, April 27.  Hours for curbside services will be Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Those who have existing hold requests will be able to pick up their orders starting on Monday, April 27.
 
Card holders with holds must call the library to schedule a pickup appointment.
 
According to Emergency Order 28, public libraries shall remain closed for all in-person services, except that they may provide the following services:

 

• Online services and programming.
• Curb-side pick-up of books and other library materials, if all operations are performed by one person in a room or confined space. Materials must be requested online or by phone before pick-up. The library may not require a signature from the patron. The library must schedule pickups to ensure compliance with Social Distancing Requirements as defined in Section 16 of the Safer at Home Order.

 
“This week is National Library Week and we’re pleased to share news that we will soon be offering curbside pickup services,” said Library Director Amy Salminen. “I’m proud of our team for being able to adapt during this unprecedented time to offer innovative online programs. We’ve also been able to promote the incredible digital resources that the library has to offer.”
 
The library is preparing signage for curbside services. Markers for social distancing will be placed on the sidewalk for people to follow. Returned materials should be delivered to the book drop on the north side of the library building.
 
Hold requests should be placed in Monarch Catalog online, through the Monarch2Go app, or by calling the library's reference desk at 262-335-5152.  Requests are filled once the patron is notified via phone, email or text. Patrons must schedule an appointment for pickup of materials with the library by calling the Circulation Department at 262-335-5151.
