Blue Lotus Days for Children with Special Needs and Seniors
July 07, 2020BLUE LOTUS OFFERING EXPANDED PROGRAMMINGPrograms for those with profound challenges – one for children, the other for seniorsWest Bend, WI (July 1, 2020) – Beautiful opportunities can arise from difficulties, that’s why Blue Lotus Farm & Retreat Center is excited to announce our expanded programming. Since many nonprofits are not holding outings due to the virus, we’re hosting 21 Blue Lotus Days. Some of the designated days are for children with special needs and their families/caregivers and others are for seniors with challenges and their families/caregivers.
Everyone should have access to nature, so we are committed to finding ways for individuals to enjoy the outdoors. During Blue Lotus Days – individuals with special needs and their families and/or caregivers can visit Blue Lotus and enjoy the outdoors and many activities like canoeing, fishing, nature walks, and yard games. Or, some might just like to relax in a caring environment in the shade of the trees. And, each family can enjoy the in-ground, heated pool for an hour – all on their own!
We have designated some of the Blue Lotus Days for seniors experiencing challenges and the others for children with special needs. Each individual attends with their immediate families and/or caregivers. During these challenges times, it is good to have a safe, caring environment you can go to and enjoy being in nature.
We are limiting each day to five individuals and their immediate families/caregivers – so they can practice social distancing and still enjoy the Center. Safety is a top priority, so we’ve been busy over the last several months updating our procedures and cleaning processes.
The cost is $5 per person and individuals can view the available dates and sign up online at bluelotusfarm.org/events or give us a call at 262-675-2473.
