A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
As a System Administrator, you provide daily monitoring, maintenance and administration of IT systems, applications, servers and clients. You use your problem solving skills to resolve and support incidents and provide technical guidance to fellow team members. You have great communications skills and use that to communicate problems to key stakeholders, provide after hours on-call support as part of a rotational schedule, and increase efficiency and workflow in the workplace. Not only that, but you also you get to troubleshoot and resolve support incidents and provide technical guidance to fellow team members. Perform preventative maintenance including installation of service packs, patches, and hot fixes on applications, and systems.
You spend time working with IT managing new IT projects as assigned from design, through deployment, training, documentation and life cycle management. You provide daily monitoring, maintenance and administration of IT systems, applications, servers and clients (E.g., virtualization software, antivirus/malware, mobile device management, backup utilities, recovery software, etc.) You also spend time installing, configuring, monitoring, and managing network storage and database systems. You would provide oversight of third-party providers to ensure services are operational and optimized. A System Administrator is also in charge of maintaining inventory of applications, servers, and end-user devices along with system diagrams.
- A minimum of a two-year degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- Professional certifications desired.
- 5 years of related experience preferred
- Employees must comply with government and other regulations affecting the credit union industry including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act and The USA Patriot Act.
